Standard Operating Procedure
Hello, may I speak to Member? I am glad I got ahold of you, this is Agent with American Income, Local 277. We handle your no cost benefits through the Group.
They sent you a letter a while ago about this and you returned a yellow 3x5 inch card. I just need to verify the information you wrote down and I'll have you right off the phone... Now, Member, you wrote down your address as (Address). Is that correct? Ok Great! Next thing you wrote down is your date of birth as (D.O.B.). Is that correct? For the beneficiary of the life insurance policy, you wrote down (Beneficiary). Is that still correct? Perfect! Now it looks like you are one of the members who hasn't received their benefits package yet and it's my job to explain the benefits, activate the permanent ones, and get you caught up with everyone else.
*Always shoot for insta-sits or same day sits!* Now Member, the hardest part of my job is coordinating my schedule because they want me seeing 8-10 people each day. I normally have an appointment every hour on the hour. So, what time do you and Spouse normally get home from work or are you retired? Perfect! I have a very booked up schedule right now, but I can squeeze you in today at TIME or today at TIME. Which one works best for you and Spouse? Ok great, we do everything over a quick video meeting. (IF VIRTUAL)
Do me a favor, grab a pen and paper. I have some very important information that I need you to write down. Let me know when you're ready. • Okay, go ahead and write down my name and number. It's [spell first name] and [phone #]. • Next, please write down the day and time of our appointment, which is (day/time). • Also, we'll be using Zoom Meeting, so please write down the meeting code: Zoom Meeting ID. What's a good email to where I can send the Zoom link? Is this your cell phone number? Test Zoom or FaceTime with the client to solidify the appointment — we have all been no-showed before, it's the worst, you won't do that to them. Can they promise the same and make sure they show? Okay great! I'll send you a quick reminder text about our meeting. Once you receive it, please reply with a 'thumbs up' emoji or a 'good to go' message, okay? Wonderful! It's very IMPORTANT that you're both there. Sound good? Perfect! I look forward to talking to you and Spouse tomorrow at (day/time). Have a great night! • Always identify yourself as being from American Income and not their group. • Never leave client to believe they must meet to be covered on AD&D. • Only use approved text scripts.
Hi, my name is (your name) from American Income Life, and I'm calling you about the no cost benefits through your (Group). I have the reply card about your benefits. It's very important and time sensitive. The number I can be reached on is my personal cell (#). If I don't hear back from you I will try to call back a little later.
(Text photo of hard card to member with this verbiage) Hi ___, We received the response card sent in for the No Cost benefits provided through your Local XXX (or Assn of). My job is just to deliver and review these benefits and explain how they work with what you already have. It doesn't take long. Would Monday at 5 or 7 work for you or is Tuesday at 4 better? (Your name), AIL representative.
Not very long, it depends on how many questions you have. I'm very busy, so I'll need to keep it short. (back to script)
No problem, I'll get straight to the point! (back to script)
Great question! That was the first step. You got a letter in the mail and now I have your reply card. The final step is very easy. I just need to set you up with everything over a quick video meeting. (back to script)
Great question! When something happens to you, your spouse will need to understand how the benefits work and how to make a claim on all of the money. (back to script)
No worries, that will make things a little easier, my job is to just to help setup your no cost benefits and go over what has been set up for you. (back to script)
Great question! The benefits you receive as a union member are at no cost. It's just my job to explain your benefits, activate the permanent ones and get you caught up with everyone else. (back to script)
No problem. But let's take a step back. Have you been to the meetings where they talked about this program? (No matter what they say, move on!) That's exactly why I'm calling. It's just my job to explain your benefits, activate the permanent ones and get you caught up with everyone else. (back to script)
That's exactly why I'm calling. There are so many members who sent back the card that it has taken us a while to get to them all. However, I'll show you a copy of the card, which will help to refresh your memory. (back to script)
That's exactly why I'm calling. These benefits are permanent, and you can keep them even if you are no longer part of the union. It's just my job to explain your benefits, activate the permanent ones and get you caught up with everyone else. (back to script)
